The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. [Proverbs 31:1]

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

~ Proverbs 31:10-31 [KJV]

To My Mother

I know the story behind

the dainty flowers

in your little garden. The colors, though

common, tell the eyes what soul

chose to see them. Every day

the modest bloom and quiet laughter bask

in the morning sun of your

delight. What a bright blessing! Today

I see them flourish

in my heart. What wonder!

Your simple hands

have painted

a masterpiece.

These are one of Mama’s select flowers. They’re my favorite. ;)

My mom doesn’t have any college degree or any professional title, but for me she deserves the highest honorary title. I am very proud of her. She remains my Ideal Mother.   ;)

Yesterday my sister and I were in scenic Hundred Islands in Pangasinan. It was their company outing — I mean department exclusive, and I went along with her. I wasn’t really ready to go because I am working on a difficult file which needs much time, but I am very thankful I went along–and captured the exhilarating beauty of Nature. ;)

We reached home late last night, and I was soo tired and sleepy. I thought I could still make a Mother’s Day post, but my brother was using the PC, so I just went off to Sleep City. ;)

I have a few posts relating to mothers, but since I’m in a hurry I’ll just make this one important message. Late maybe for Mother’s Day, but mothers are timeless, so perhaps it’s all right. ;)

Happy Mother’s Day to all MOTHERS!  ;)

~~~~~
“I love you, Mama. You’re the Best!
When I grow up, I’ll be a beary good writer, and I’ll tell the world about your beary wonderful Story.” ;)
I was looking for an update on the Myanmar cyclone at Yahoo, and glad to discover this site:
Here’s a quick look from Yahoo! News and Reuters:
A villager sits outside her Cyclone Nargis damaged house in Myanmar’s village of U Khai-Hlaing outside Labutta, in Irrawaddy Division May 9, 2008. The United Nations estimated 1.5 million people have been “severely affected” by the cyclone that swept through Myanmar, with the United States expressing outrage on Thursday at delays in allowing in aid. REUTERS/Stringeer (MYANMAR)
Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), home to freedom fighter Aung San Suu Kyi, is a Third-World nation in Asia, and I think its isolationist regime is a bit hindering foreign aid. I understand that they want foreign aid but not foreign workers/volunteers, but I hope they will allow that too. They can monitor them anyway.
An AP report says:
More than 20,000 are known dead and tens of thousands more are listed as missing, and the U.N. estimates more than 1 million people are homeless in Myanmar, which also is known as Burma.
That is an alarming report. I wish I could physically do something, but this is all I can do at the moment. I hope the death toll will remain at that number, and more aid will be given to Myanmar. I highly appreciate the volunteerism and benevolence of various organizations that help others who are in need. Especially:
Mama Sun
The other day Mama asked me to save her new Sun Cellular number in her mobile phone. In the Philippines there are three major network providers simply called ”Globe,” “Smart,” and “Sun.” So whenever I key in a contact’s other number, I do this:
Aui Sun = means my friend Aui’s other number by Sun.
Mhea Globe = means my friend Mhea’s other number by Globe.
Erika Smart = means my friend Erika’s other number by Smart.
So when I saved Mama’s new Sun number (she uses this for long-distance calls to my aunts in Tacloban City who also have Sun sims, as Sun-to-Sun calls are unlimited), I typed:
Mama Sun
And then laughed as I called her. “Mama Sun” sounds the same as the Japanese “mama-san.”
“Look, Mama, you have a nice name!” I showed her the mobile phone contacts list.
“What?”
I said, “Mama Sun.” ;)
The word “FRIEND” nowadays, it seems, has become too plain and ordinary. Sometimes we tell that this someone here is our “friend,” when in fact we have just met this fellow the other day and just hit a very good conversation. I used to have a Friendster account, and I know how you get to have lots of “friends” there. People would want to add you as their friend, and that’s it. Honestly, I don’t need a long list of “friends.” One friend is even enough for me, one who stands by you quietly through thick and thin, and doesn’t even have to tell you that you are loved. ;)
“Friend” may be a simple word, but for me it holds a deeper meaning. I wonder what word it is you use when you want to distinguish somebody that’s between an acquaintance and a friend. ;) Friends… I used to have lots of them when I was still flying a high kite. But when the chips were down, I turned to them but couldn’t find them. I was just a friend for a season to them, when I was willing to be a friend for life. :(
For me,
a friend is someone you care about.
You share your thoughts with that person.
There is trust, companionship, and confidence in your mutual relationship.
You help each other reach your primary dream in life.
You’re physically present when you’re physically needed, if possible.
You’re emotionally present when you’re emotionally needed.
You don’t give gifts; you share them with each other.
You just listen when the other wants to talk.
You tell the truth when the other listens.
You are happy when you are together.
You lift each other to a better level of self-esteem, emotional growth,
and spiritual maturity.
You tell the truth, no matter how hard and hurtful it could be.
You make a way for both of you to meet and spend time together,
if time and distance allow.
You involve yourselves in one or two activities or hobbies.
Your respective families know that you are friends.
You always wish the best in life for your friend.
You constantly communicate with each other in various ways.
Your friend is always included in your prayers.
A friend understands your shortcomings and weaknesses,
and you don’t take advantage of that.
You are always concerned about your friend’s well-being.
You willingly and gladly make sacrifices for your friend.
And you don’t take a friend for granted because:
friend is a part of you,
a part of who you are
and what you become.
A friend is a priceless gift. ;)
Bless the LORD, O my soul;
         And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
         And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
         Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
         Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
         So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
~ Psalm 103:1-5 (NKJV)
4/30
This date is special for me.
From a chronology of Biblical events featured in a KJV Bible published by World Publishing:
Jesus Christ’s birth was in 4 BC.
Jesus Christ’s crucifixion was in 30 AD.
My Bible reading for today fell on Isaiah 32.
I am not good with numbers, but those numbers surely mean something to me today. ;)
Today is a very busy but wonderful day.
1. It’s my Aunt Flor’s birthday (melisa, reminder: a post about her). We exchanged a few text messages.
2. I received Auntie Luz’s birthday gift, a lovely letter sent by traditional snail-mail! Auntie is Jel’s (a friend) mother (melisa, reminder: a post about her too). She is like a second mom to me in terms of closeness or attachment. I’m not going to show it to Jel because she might get jealous. ;) It always warms my heart whenever I receive a letter, you know, especially a handwritten one.
3. I’m still reviewing my current work assignment, The Godhead Explained. I hope I could finish it tomorrow.
4. There are many things that are currently crowding my mind as tomorrow approaches and…if I could only stretch this day. ;)
Anyway, this is what I call wonderful busy-ness. I am really slow; I always make haste slowly. But there’s something about being gorgeously busy and beautiful thoughts linger in the mind. ;)
New pages
I am currently reading Mind’s Limit Found: 4 Things at Once (by Clara Moskowitz)
from Yahoo! News, and I think that explains why I need to post these things. I need a post of reminders. ;)
Four things at once: Now I understand why I am comfortable hanging out with only four people. My attention span is really limited; I mean I just want my attention to be as coherently whole as possible.
Tomorrow I add a new page, figuratively, to my sojourney. I have set some things beforehand, but I think time is not on my side this time. I thought I could add new CS pages by the time I hit tomorrow’s date, but…
So I’ll just remind myself that these are the CS pages that I am planning to add here:
1. Site Tour - just to amuse myself a little, as well as any kindhearted visitor.
2. Social Development Project/Idea - The idea has been in my mind for many years. I think it’s good to share it here.
3. Special Thanks - I’d like to list down websites, blogs, photographers, people who I want to thank for letting me use their pictures. And also the three special people who introduced me to blogging and WordPress.
4. I don’t like to include personal photos, but I think I’d like to devote a page for my lovely Christian family.
5. A page on my stand as a Christian. This is not to cause any fuss among non-believers, but this is my holiday home, and it’s just like (a little bit) putting an important fixture in the house that creates an atmosphere.
All right, that’s all for now about those pages. I may or may not push through with the idea, but at least I have a list to consider. ;)
Delete or Save
“We’re playing hide-and-seek. Do you think I won’t get caught here?”
~~~~~

Earlier yesterday I blundered and messed up with our family PC’s files. I was trying to delete some recent items in a certain folder, and then…

I couldn’t open the desktop shortcuts. Uh-oh, I’m in big trouble. ;(

I thought I have deleted some program files or what, so I got a little nervous, you know. ;)

Oh, Lord, please forgive me, I’ll never do it again.

What was I doing it for? Because I’m afraid that my brother would discover that I’m blogging here. ;) I often download some pictures which I think I might need in the future, and I also save a copy of one or two intriguing blogs, like an atheist’s blog. I do read on some occasions materials that advocate beliefs contrary to mine, to try to understand their point. But I must say, I know where I stand: on Christ the Solid Rock alone.

So I was a little worried that my family might get worried that atheism might be charming me. ;) Well, there’s a beautiful Christian song that rings in my ear now:

My Sheep Know My Voice.

That blunder made me realize its great significance in life. My moves are constantly being tracked by Heaven… Whatever I do, whatever I say, whatever thought I entertain in my heart… I have nothing to hide.

This brings to my recollection a crime in the US, where the suspect deleted all downloaded files on how to make a certain bomb. He used that bomb to kill the teenager who sold him a low-quality radio via an online transaction. But the investigator took his PC’s hard drive and there found saved files of documents which he printed, which included files on how to make the bomb.

By the way, I was able to restore the deleted files. Thankfully, they’re still saved in the recycle bin.

In life it’s somewhat like this: We can always delete, but Jesus always saves. ;)

You’ll never pass this way again. So respect each other’s difference. ;)

Just recently I commented on a certain post by Truthtold. I have just clicked to post the comment when I noticed I forgot to sign my name. So I tried to undo it so I can add my name. I thought it was cancelled because it stopped, then I added my name and clicked again.

I went to another window. But when I came back to the post there were two comments by me. The first was unsigned, the next was signed. Oh dear. ;)

It got me to thinking, It’s just like life. You do things, but you can never undo them. If you hurt somebody with harmful words, like cuss or sarcastic or slanderous words, you can never take them back, no matter how much you regret and want to apologize. The other human being has been hurt, and that’s it. The only thing that remains is forgiveness on the other person’s part. Forgiving, like forgetting what’s been done, overlooking the fault, learning from the experience, and then going on with life.

And I think that’s also a little bit reflected in what happened to that comment experience. It’s up to Truthtold to choose which of the two comments (awaiting moderation) does he want to show in the post. Or maybe not show at all… Well, it’s all right with me anyhow. ;)

I am happy to see this. There’s no Control + Z in my life, so I must always be careful about how I live. God gave me this life, and I’m responsible for how I spend it. ;)

Last night, I got the fastest response from a website so far. After searching the net, discovering the site, and downloading (with much delight) four of its quality wallpaper photos of interior designs, I contacted it to ask for permission. I did this while fixing some things in my “camp.”

Then, when I was about to leave, I got a WordPress notification on a new comment. It was from that website. ;) I quickly opened my Yahoo! mail, and to my delighted surprise, I also got word from:

Wallpapersweb.com

It was a simple but meaningful note from Kavinga, like the comment he posted in About. ;)

Not many sites have that kindly time to answer you when you contact them. So it meant something to me. It really warmed my heart, and I’m so grateful about it. ;)

And you know, Wallpapersweb.com’s wallpaper photos are of high quality! I think that reflects the person/people who manage it. Like Kavinga. ;)

This is one of the website’s pages. The category here is ANIMALS.
